Incorporating TLC with Your Therapist
Although many complete TLC group programs, TLC has also been successfully adapted by therapists for use in individual therapy.
We are happy to collaborate with your therapist.
Doing TLC On Your Own
Many depressed individuals find that they are able to engage in the TLC elements without directly participating in a group, but depression can often make it difficult to get motivated.
Many of our participants find the groups to be a validating and helpful experience because they are in a group with others who understand the struggles they are facing and can serve as social support.
If you do not feel comfortable in a group setting, TLC can be integrated into individual therapy.
Additionally, Dr. Ilardi has written a self-help book based on the elements of TLC, The Depression Cure: The 6-Step Program to Beat Depression without Drugs.
